A home for all seasons steeped in tradition

Long before anyone coined the term “base lodge,” Ludlow, Vermont was a thriving four-season town, exciting marketplace and vibrant community at the base of Okemo Mountain. With its delightful shops and galleries, exceptional dining, and unrivaled recreation all surrounded by quiet streets, country roads and scenic Vermont splendor, Ludlow has something for everyone.

Located at the junction of Routes 100 & 103, this 150+ year-old village began life as a classic mill town powered by the rushing Black River. Fast-forward a couple years, and Ludlow is home to Okemo Mountain Resort, a thrilling year-round playground with world-class amenities, trendsetting innovations and spectacular mountain vistas. You may come for the mountain and discover the town, just as easily as the other way round. Come spring and summer, skiers and snowboarders give way to hiking, fishing and some of the best golfing found anywhere in New England. Fall means festivals, craft fairs, fine dining and shopping, to say nothing of our breathtaking fall foliage. Ludlow, Vermont is what a base lodge was meant to be, the one place that meets all your needs and exceeds your expectations.

Whether you’re visiting Ludlow for a relaxing getaway with your family or for enjoying challenging activities in our gorgeous outdoors, you’re in the right place. All our seasons provide perfect environments for outdoor and country-living enthusiasts. During the summer and the warmer months, enjoy our festivals, craft shows, museums, golf courses, fishing, kayaking or swimming in our endless streams, lakes and rivers.  In the winter our landscape is adorned with cross country skiing, snowmobiling, horseback riding and downhill skiing at Okemo Mountain Resort.  We are on Scenic Route 100, the “Skiers Highway” that has five ski areas within thirty minutes.

Don’t take our word for it.

SKI Magazine and Investopedia list Okemo Mountain Resort in their TOP 10 EASTERN SKI RESORTS and as one of 6 BEST PLACES TO BUY A WINTER HOME for 2016. The reasons are many: 655 skiable acres, 120 trails, great amenities and New England’s best snowmaking to weatherproof winter vacations.

Okemo is No. 1 in the East for its lift system ensuring that more time is spent on the trails then at any other mountain. Okemo’s lift portfolio is highlighted by the “Sunburst Six” a high speed six person lift with heated seats and a protective orange-plastic bubble and the “Quantum Four” a quad high speed bubble lift also with heated seats.

Snow quality and grooming remain the true hallmarks for Okemo (ranked No. 3 and 4, respectively).

A major recurring Okemo theme is its dedication to families (No. 4 for Kid-Friendly).
